Steam is currently seeing a big decline in the number of people playing games (and even having Steam open on their computers) since January of this year. ...
This week is both the last week of July, and the first week of August, which means it's a big one for Netflix. Her was added on Sunday, and two originals will be added on Monday and Tuesday called A Very Secret Service and Terrace House: Opening New Doors.
Looking ahead to August 1, Batman Begins, Gran Torino, Million Dollar Baby, and Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring will all be coming to the streaming service on Wednesday, along with an original called Switched in the vein on Freaky Friday.
August 3 is a big day for Netflix originals; several new shows and movies will be added, including an original film starring Kristin Bell called Like Father, which follows a young woman who reconnects with her father after being left at the alter. There is also an original documentary series called I Am A Killer in which death-row inmates tell the story of their crime(s) from their perspective.
These and other titles will be added to Netflix this week, look below to see the whole list. If you'd like to know about everything coming to Netflix in August, see our complete list.

It's time to say goodbye to fireworks and hello to heat waves. To aid you in procrastinating on back to school shopping, we're here to let you know about everything coming to Netflix in August. Lots of movies and TV shows will be added, while a number of others are on their way out. Let's dive into the highlights.
A lot of hard-hitting dramas will be available in August. Some of the notable additions include Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins, Gran Torino, Million Dollar Baby, Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, and No Country For Old Men.
A handful of TV shows are coming to the service in August as well. We will be getting the second season of The Good Place, the fifth season of The 100, and the fifth and final season of The Originals, along with a few others.
A ton of Netflix Originals will also be added, including the highly-anticipated second season of Ozark, as well as a brand new Matt Groening animated series called Disenchantment. There are also several original documentaries coming out, including one called Zion about a young man who was born without legs and wants to become a professional wrestler.
There are some comedy specials coming out as well, including Demetri Martin's new special, Bert Kreischer's new special, and part two of The Comedy Lineup, which features a handful of comedians doing 15 minute sets.
Clearly, there's going to be a lot to watch on Netflix this month, but sadly, there are also several titles that are leaving the site like Finding Dory, Sausage Party, and 40 Year Old Virgin, so watch them while you still can.
If you'd like to find out about everything that is arriving and leaving on Netflix and when, check out our complete list below. We also have a complete list for titles arriving and leaving Hulu in August, so if you're a streaming addict like myself, you'll want to check out that list as well.

Welcome to the SwitchArcade Roundup for July 31st, 2018! Let’s close out the month of July in style with your daily dose of news, impressions, new releases, and sales just like we always do here at the Roundup. This time around I have impressions to share regarding the first Mega Man X Legacy Collection, but before diving into those, let’s take a look at our Game of the Day.
We’re starting off in a futuristic direction for the SwitchArcade Roundup today. For years, Nintendo fans have loudly clamored for some more F-Zero, but their vocal support of a new entry in the series has fallen on deaf ears (or in Internet text form, blind eyes). While only vaguely similar to Nintendo’s futuristic racing franchise, FAST RMX from the mighty tech wizards at Shin’en manages to develop a blisteringly quick and exciting racer that might just scratch that racing itch that F-Zero fans have missed.
FAST RMX is pure racing without the use of weapons. It’s all about using your mastery of your racing skill to reach the finish before your competitors. The central mechanic in the game, other than obviously racing, is switching between orange and blue on your vehicle’s shield in order to interact with things like boost pads and jumps. If you have a blue shield on your vehicle while you’re crossing a blue stretch of track, you’ll gain a boost. Likewise, if you do so with a blue shield on an orange stretch of track, you’ll lose speed and energy in the process. Fluid and smart switching between the colors of your shield make a big difference in crossing the finish line in first place and trailing somewhere in the middle (or even the back) of the racing pack.
The main mode for single player sessions is Championship. This is comprised of 12 cups of three races apiece. At launch, there were “only" 30 tracks, but with the inclusion of free DLC (which also added a Time Attack mode and two new vehicles), there are now 36 races total, an amazing amount. In addition to Championship mode, there is a Hero mode, which is more like an F-Zero experience. This mode is complete with your energy gauge being your health bar, and crashing your vehicle means a disqualification from the race instead of simply being placed back on the track like nothing happened.
FAST RMX‘s controls are as smooth as the sublime frame-rate and speed of the game. I mean, it’s right there in the title–FAST–and that’s exactly what you get with Shin’en’s first Switch game. While online play isn’t too packed with players nowadays and the developer included some nasty comeback-AI (a.k.a. rubber-band AI), FAST RMX is a splendid racing game that–at least for me–made the current absence and ongoing hiatus of Nintendo’s F-Zero series much less painful to experience.
One of my favorite game series growing up was Mega Man X. I was one of those weirdos who preferred the faster, more mobile X series over the classic Mega Man series, despite the former having some true stinkers of sequels in its lineup of games. Thankfully, Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 features none of those in its four-game package. Instead, it collects the best adventures that X and Zero have starred in doing all their Maverick-hunting awesomeness in one neat and tidy package. Well… almost.
While I’ll get to the particular caveat with this collection in a bit, I am amazed by the amount of bonus content featured in this game. There is a music player, art gallery, collectible gallery in the form of toys, figures, and trading cards, original commercials and trailers for all of the series’ games, and even a brand-new X Challenge mode that pits Mega Man X against two similarly themed Maverick bosses in a single battle. The combinations are a love letter to a Mega Man X fan such as myself.
The only missing features in Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 compared to the past Capcom collections are the inability to have save states or, like in the recently released Switch version of Mega Man Legacy Collection, a rewind function. This means that you have to play these somewhat difficult games the tried and true way with no save scumming, no “oops! I made a mistake, so I have to rewind time to just before I messed up" actions that you might want to take, or anything of that sort. It’s purely playing the games how they were originally meant to be played, to the detriment of accessibility for beginning players who might find themselves frustrated to the point of just quitting the games completely.
Mega Man X remains my favorite of the X franchise, followed closely by X4 and then X2. Mega Man X3 suffers from an exhausting and overwhelming amount of collectibles to find and different endings to the game that make it difficult to keep track of. Nevertheless, even with this gripe of Mega Man X3, there isn’t a bad entry in the bunch here.
What is a bad, however, is something that affects the overall quality of the Mega Man X Legacy Collection, and it’s a doozy. It’s noticeable input lag, where pressing a button results in a delay of a few in-game frames. This can severely mess with your timing of jumps and shots, and can make the first three X games harder than they were when they first released. (X4 does not have input lag problems, thankfully, assuming because it’s not a Super Nintendo game originally.)
The first three Mega Man X games are still playable and hardly broken, but keep the input lag in mind. For beginners, it will make these games painful to play, and I say that as a veteran of these games who still had some issues occasionally (but still managed to successfully complete them). However, if you do get bothered by input lag of any kind, it might be a good idea to keep your Wii U or New Nintendo 3DS, so you can download the first three Mega Man X games on those instead of dealing with the control issues present in X1–X3 on this Switch collection. Overall, it’s great to have these games released in the present for a new generation to hopefully enjoy.
Pysonix previously released a physical version of Rocket League already on the Nintendo Switch. Now, with a new publishing partner in Warner Bros. Games, the developer is releasing a brand-new physical version of the game, containing the main game, Rocket League Collector’s Edition‘s content, and multiple DLC packs released after the previous physical game’s release (and all on the same game card, so no separate downloads here). Oh, and did you know that Rocket League: Ultimate Edition features THREE Batmobiles? It does. It says so right on the cover. Apparently, WB Games thinks that is a selling point to someone who may not have yet been pushed over the edge on purchasing this collection when Rocket League: Ultimate Edition releases on August 28th here in North America–and August 31st in Europe and Oceania.
The original hint that LEGO Harry Potter Collection might be releasing for the Switch was discovered in an Argos UK Catalog listing. That was just over this weekend. Now, the Taiwanese video game rating site (suitably titled gamerating.org/tw) has another listing for this hypothetical collection, which further leads me to believe that where there’s proverbial smoke, there’s a proverbial fire. LEGO Harry Potter Collection for the Switch seems to be a thing, but we’ll have to wait for an official word and announcement from WB Games. In the meantime, check out the trailer of the collection for the PlayStation 4.
2019 marks the 20th anniversary of the original Digimon anime series. With that in mind, Bandai Namco has announced the localization for the West of Digimon Survive, a game I previously introduced in a recent SwitchArcade Roundup. Digimon Survive is a turn-based strategy RPG that features a mixture of 2D and 3D gameplay. Fittingly enough, Digimon Survive will release just in time for next year’s 20th anniversary in 2019.
After a Switch announcement for Salt and Sanctuary out of nowhere last week (releasing in just two days digitally, to be specific), now the duo of Ska Studios and Leadman Games have announced a physical edition of Salt and Sanctuary, due out October 30th. Considering the dark, brooding, and brutal aesthetic of the game, the physical version releasing just around Halloween is some delightful planning! Salt and Sanctuary‘s physical release includes the obvious game on a cartridge, a Bandcamp download code for the game’s soundtrack, a double-sided post with artwork on one side and a beautiful world map on the other, and a 20-page manual. Perhaps you’ll see some early impressions of Salt and Sanctuary tomorrow on a certain series of columns called the SwitchArcade Roundup…! (Okay, that tease was a little too on the nose, even for me.)
The original Code of Princess released on the Nintendo 3DS early in the system’s life. Now, Nicalis has brought the game, containing a combination of hack-and-slash beat-’em-up goodness and role-playing systems, to the Switch with new updates. Not only is everything in HD now, but the original’s ghastly frame-rate has also been improved to make for a more enjoyable experience. Code of Princess EX is filled to the top with content, local and online multiplayer, a rich story, and an amazing amount of characters to play as.
Titan Quest is quite the interesting Diablo-esque game, coming from the co-creator of Age of Empires and the writer of the movie Braveheart. “They may take our Switch’s storage space, but they will never take our FREEEEEEEDOOOOOOOOOM!!!" Spread across the ancient lands of Greece, Egypt, and Asia, Titan Quest will task players to slay mythical monsters and legendary beasts of all varieties, customize their characters with insanely impressive detail, and even have the option to go it alone or online with up to six players.
If you were old enough to play Flashback when it originally released, I can make you feel old. It’s the 25th anniversary of the game, and Microids has brought this action-adventure classic back to the forefront in gaming with this Nintendo Switch release. With new bells and whistles like additional graphic filters, remastered sound and music, a “rewind" option built into the game, and helpful tutorials to make the game more accessible for all, Flashback has returned and is better than ever.

When The Flash returns for its fifth season, there's going to be a strangely familiar new face taking up residence in Central City. At the end of Season 4, the mysterious girl that popped up around nearly everyone on the team revealed herself to be the daughter of Barry (Grant Gustin) and Iris (Candice Patton) from the future.
Her arrival will present the team with an entirely new set of problems, as she reveals exactly what's made her come back in time to confront her parents. On top of that, though, there's also a new villain coming to town, a new Wells on the way, and plenty of other issues to deal with.
To figure out what, exactly, is going to happen, GameSpot was part of a small group interview with showrunner Todd Helbing and the cast of The Flash at San Diego Comic-Con. While they remained tight-lipped about many aspects of the season to come, the Flash gang was surprisingly open about how the first few episodes of the season are going to play out.
Take a look at the spoiler and teases we managed to get out of Team Flash about what's to come in Season 5, then sound off in the comments with your own hopes for the new episodes. Also make sure to check out all of the Arrow Season 7 spoilers we were able to find out. The Flash returns Tuesday, October 9, at 8 PM ET on The CW.
San Diego Comic-Con 2018 Coverage
After introducing the time-traveling daughter of Barry and Iris from the future, Nora West-Allen (Jessica Parker Kennedy), Season 7 will focus a lot on The Flash's legacy and what that means to practically everyone on the team. None more than Barry and Iris, though, as they are confronted by their own personal future.
"Our theme this year is legacies," Helbing says. "There's a lot for Barry and Iris, and everybody has their sort of thematic challenge with this, but with them, it's truly like, what's more important? Is it more important to be a great father? Is it more important to be the Flash? Are you friends with your kids? Are you parents? You know, when can you be either? All those questions that new parents grapple with, we're playing with Barry and Iris. It's a lot of fun."
In its first few seasons, Barry was constantly screwing up the timeline by going back in time. Now, his daughter has done the exact same thing, which is going to have an impact on the show.
"She clearly messed up something majorly," Helbing teases. "In the first episode, you'll find out a lot of what that is. We're not doing Flashpoint again, but there's certainly a ripple effect."
For Barry, her arrival makes him immediately question himself as both a speedster and a parent. "Was he around to teach her?" Gustin wonders. "Did he not want her to be a speedster as all? What? We're going to answer those questions in the first couple episodes though, and see Barry and Iris' kind of different takes on her being here."
Now that Nora has made herself known to her parents, she's going to be a bit distant from Iris--an idea introduced last season. That's something the show is going to confront early on.
"She's a little standoffish with Iris," Gustin explains. "We don't know why. And she's like extra clingy with Barry." Candice Patton, who plays Iris, adds, "We'll get into that in Season 5, why they don't have the best relationship and why Nora is so much more of a daddy's girl."
While the idea of meeting your future child might sound exciting, it's not for Barry. After all, this is a man who had his parents taken from him at a young age, and now, he's losing the opportunity to first meet his daughter when she's born.
"Something we touched on in the first episode is, it's kind of hard for him because he's always wanted a family. He's always wanted a kid and now getting her like this. He almost feels like he's having another kind of thing stolen from him," Gustin admits. "His mom was killed because of his powers. He grew up with his dad in prison because of his powers and time travel, and now he doesn't even get to meet his daughter the normal way, he meets her at mid-20s… We'll see him deal with it in stages but it is kind of tough, kind of weird for him at first because he does feel like he's been robbed of a lot, and this is a gift at the same time its like, what is this going to affect? How will this affect the future?"
It was revealed that this season Team Flash will face off with a villain named Cicada, played by American Pie alum Chris Klein. In the comics, Cicada leads a cult of people that kill those the Flash has saved, using daggers shaped like lightning bolts.
It won't play out exactly like that on the show, though. "What we do on our show is always inspired by it," Helbing says. "So we've changed a lot of it to create a story that, or a villain that's formidable in a way that we haven't done before."
As the trailer makes it clear, though, the lightning bolt daggers are still being used.
With Harry gone, it's time to bring in another new Wells for Tom Cavanagh to play. However, the actor teases that there will likely be more than one this season. The Wells we will first meet is a strange one, though.
"This year I thought, we'll add a little flair, and this guy is going to be called [Sherloque Wells], following along with the myth and the legend of Sherlock Holmes-ian type, but we might turn that a little bit on its head, the way they did with Iron Man," the actor says.
How Sherloque will be like Iron Man remains to be seen, but Cavanagh seems to have big plans. "What was nice about Iron Man, I thought, was they took the superhero trope and kind of turned it on its head a little bit," he explains. "He had so many weaknesses, and when I say that, I mean that in a good way. It humanized him. He was quick. He was funny. I guess one of the great ways of describing him, one of the things that I'm drawn to when I see the superhero characters, are flawed people doing extraordinary things, because it sort of humanizes them to me."
Though it's too early to know for sure, Carlos Valdes (Cisco) is championing the idea of Wells finding a new BFF on Team Flash.
"Well, I'm not going to lie. I've loved playing opposite Tom for any and all iterations of Wells," the actor says. "I think we work really well together and I love that and I wouldn't trade that for anything in the world, but I think, I mean, I have to be honest, I would love to see him explore that kind of dynamic or that close or entertaining of a dynamic with somebody else. Do you know what I mean? Just, I'm a big fan of change and changing things up, so I don't know, that's my hope. We haven't really gotten into too much Wells stuff yet, but yeah, that's my hope."
As revealed in the first trailer for Season 5, Barry is wearing the Flash ring. With that ring will come an upgraded suit--finally. What it will look like has yet to be seen, but given how constant the Green Arrow has changed up his look, it's good to know Flash is getting something new.
One of the biggest issues The Flash grapples with every season is whether Iris is a journalist or not. In the first two seasons, her journalistic pursuits were central to the character. At a certain point, though, that side of her got buried as she became integrated into Team Flash. Now, though, it sounds like she may be putting her reporter hat back on.
"I have been told that that is the plan," Patton says. "To get Iris kind of back on track being a journalist. I don't know how in depth they'll get with that. I'm always a little skeptical 'cause there's always so much going on but the plan is to kind of move in that direction. I mean, have you seen that article from 2024? Iris wrote that article so we do have to get to a place where that is possible to some degree. So I think we're moving that direction."
With the Thinker dominating so much of Season 4, the show didn't get to spend a lot of time with Cisco in the aftermath of his relationship with Gypsy (Jessica Camacho). That will be addressed in Season 5, though it sounds like Cisco may be spending too much time drinking to get over his heartbreak.
"I think that party that we end at in Season 4, where they're all at the West House, I think that was his first opportunity to start processing things and his only tool, the only tool at his disposal there was some champagne," Valdes hints. "So you can expect that to play a part, in terms of how he processes that break-up… Champagne plays a big part."
It was revealed in Season 4 that Caitlyn had some form of Killer Frost inside of her before the particle accelerator explosion in the show's first episode. Now, armed with that information, she's going to dig deeper into her other half in a quest for answers.
"I think we're gonna see at the top of this season Caitlin really trying to get more information about Killer Frost and how she came to be and understanding that a little bit more," Danielle Panabaker says. "Which is exciting and I think that'll help us understand her motivations as well."

The v5.10 content update is now available for all platforms (PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and iOS), and on top of reintroducing the Guided Missile to the game, it marks the start of a new limited-time game mode: Fly Explosives.
As its name implies, Fly Explosives is a new variation of the limited-time High Explosives event from earlier this year. Only explosive weapons such as Grenades and Rocket Launchers can be found in this mode. Jetpacks also return in Fly Explosives, where they will occasionally spawn as Floor Loot.
This time around, Epic says jetpacks have an increased rate of fuel regeneration as well as a decreased burn rate compared to the ones that were previously available in Battle Royale, allowing players to stay airborne longer than before. Epic has also reduced the wait time between storms; as a result, the developer estimates that average match times should be less than 20 minutes.
In addition to Fly Explosives, Epic has also recently brought back Fortnite's Playground mode. As before, Playground is a sandbox-style mode that allows players to jump into private matches and test out strategies and mess around with the game's various items. The v5.10 content update introduces three more weapons to Playground: jetpacks, Guided Missiles, and Crosssbows.
You can read more details about the current limited-time modes on the official Fortnite website. Beyond that, the v5.10 content update brings back the aforementioned Guided Missile, following its removal from the game back in April. Epic says the weapon has been "tweaked and tuned down as it was too strong upon its initial release."

Disney recently came out with one of the first promo videos for the upcoming movie Jungle Cruise. The company says that the film, which stars Emily Blunt and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, has begun production and the video shows the actors welcoming audiences to the set.
It begins with Emily Blunt walking down a path in what is supposed to be a jungle. She shows off the lights on the path as though she is a tour guide, before The Rock pseudo-interrupts her, vying for some screen time. They have a bit of a back and forth where it's clear from the start that they are play fighting. They argue over who gets to say "the adventure of a lifetime" which appears to be the movie's tagline.
Blunt and the Rock are both donning some jungle-y attire, complete with dirt on their faces to make it look extra accurate. The pair jokes about not getting along, and describes the movie as a "love story," before Blunt storms off, and then comes back for more banter.
The film will follow The Rock as he takes a pair of siblings played by Emily Blunt and Jack Whitehall on a quest to find a tree which is said to have the power to heal people. The movie will be released in conjunction with the revamp of the old Jungle Cruise ride at Disneyland in October 2019.

Along with its financial earnings report for the latest fiscal quarter, Nintendo has shared updated global sales figures for its Switch and 3DS titles. While Switch hardware sales may have dropped slightly compared to the same period last year, software sales grew significantly year-over-year, and many of the console's biggest tiles have hit new sales milestones.
Nintendo's best-selling Switch game, Super Mario Odyssey, moved an additional million copies since the company's last financial report, bringing its worldwide sales total up to a staggering 11.17 million. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Nintendo's No. 2 and 3 best-selling Switch games, respectively, likewise continue to sell well; the former has now surpassed 10 million copies, while the latter has sold 9 million.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and Mario Tennis Aces have also sold an impressive amount, clearing a million units each on Switch despite only launching recently. Nintendo's spring-loaded fighting game Arms has now sold more than 2 million copies, while the two Nintendo Labo kits have sold a combined 1.39 million units.
In comparison, Nintendo's 3DS games have sold much more modestly over the last fiscal quarter, but they continue to prop the handheld up as it enters its eighth year on the market. Mario Kart 7 remains the company's best-selling game for 3DS at 17.21 million units. Super Mario 3D Land has now surpassed 12 million, while Animal Crossing: New Leaf inches closer to the same milestone. You can see the full top 10 list for each console below or on Nintendo's website.
Nintendo still has big expectations for Switch this fiscal year, with a number of major games lined up for the console this holiday season, such as the new Labo Vehicle Kit, Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu and Let's Go, Eevee, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. 3DS also still has some notable games on the horizon, including WarioWare Gold and remakes of Luigi's Mansion and Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story.
