New World Reportedly Causing GPU Issues For Some Players Again

There has been a fresh round of reports of Amazon's MMO New World causing graphics cards to either crash or fail completely. A similar issue occurred during the beta for New World during which RTX 3090s were bricking, possibly due to the settings menu having an uncapped framerate. The issue seemed limited to EVGA cards, which were promptly replaced.

As reported by PC Gamer, it seems as though the EVGA RTX 3090 FTW Ultra card and the Gigabyte RTX 3080 Ti are reportedly having issues, in some cases. These reports, alongside some graphics cards crashing, have popped up on Reddit and the New World forums. PowerGPU also put out a tweet stating that it has begun receiving reports about failing GPUs.

GameSpot has reached out to Amazon for comment.

Netflix's Escape The Undertaker: An Underwhelming Undertaking

Netflix has delivered numerous interactive experiences through its streaming service from the You vs. Wild series starring Bear Grylls to Black Mirror's Bandersnatch. The streaming service is leading the way of letting viewers control the narrative of its programming. The latest offering from the Choose Your Own Adventure-esque special Escape the Undertaker, an adventure featuring numerous high-profile WWE wrestlers.

Escape the Undertaker follows The New Day (Kofi Kingson, Xavier Woods, and Big E) as they travel to the Undertaker's house in order to steal his urn, which contains supernatural abilities--like being able to hold someone's arm and walk on the top turnbuckle without the other person fighting back. Big E touches the urn, but in doing so, his soul is slowly taken, so it's a race against the clock. The New Day wants to "feel the power" of the urn, but in order to get it, they need to investigate various rooms in the haunted abode, as The Undertaker watches them through a various assortment of old school computers and monitors in what is essentially his Saw-like control room. Through the decision-making process held within the hands of the viewer, will the New Day accomplish their mission? The power is yours.

Well, the power is "kinda" yours, as I realized upon running through this movie three different times--four if you count the time I decided to quit at the first choice (more on that later). All the run throughs lasted around 30 minutes. Sometimes, it was a tad longer. And upon playing, there's one major thing I noticed: in order to "win" the game and "Escape the Undertaker," everything hinges on one decision about halfway through the film.

Xbox Alpha Update Lets You Track How Much Time You've Spent On Your Favorite Game From The Guide

A new update is out now for Xbox alpha testers that adds one commonly requested feature. The ability to track detailed stats like precisely how many hours you've spent playing Destiny or any other game is now available directly from the Guide.

With the update applied, users will find that the Game Activity tab from the Guide now displays not only stats about Achievements but also new information like your specific play time "and more" depending on the particular game. The specific amount of time spent playing a game was already already from deeper within the Xbox menus, but it looks like this is the first time it's directly accessible up from from the Guide.

New Xbox features are normally released first to Xbox Insider testers and then widely to everyone pending testing, so if all goes well, it shouldn't be long before this feature debuts for everyone.

Minecraft Spookyfest Brings Scares--In And Out Of The Game

Mojang has announced several events for October for Minecraft and Minecraft Dungeons. The main celebration is Spookyfest which plays into the Halloween spirit.

Players will be able to secure some special Halloween Minecraft Marketplace items for Minecraft Dungeons. On October 13, the Spooky Guardian will be available. It's a Minecraft Dungeons-inspired character-creator item based on the jack-o-lantern, free until November 2. The Cauldron Cover is a paid character-creator item based on the Cauldron, available on October 19. Lastly, on October 26, players will be able to download the Halloween Fiends free skin pack until November 2.

In Minecraft, buying select items from Japan's Micrafan Shop or HalloweenCostumes.com between October 1 and 31 will net players a special code for a free Minecraft Crafty Costumes Skin Pack. It contains five skins to use in Minecraft Bedrock Edition.

How To Find White Raven In Apex Legends For Bloodhound's New Story Quest

Despite Apex Legends being a first-person shooter battle royale, the game has deep lore for both its characters and world. Respawn Entertainment has experimented in the past with different ways of injecting that lore into the game, including comics and single-player quests. Now, Respawn has introduced a new form of story to the game through Apex Chronicles, the first of which stars Bloodhound. In order to progress through the chapters of Old Ways, New Dawn, you will need to complete certain objectives within a battle royale match.

Chapter 1 requires you to find a White Raven on World's Edge and cannot be completed in a ranked lobby. You will need to make sure that World's Edge is the current map in the unranked trios and duos queue. If not, it rotates every few hours, so check back in later. I recommend picking the duos playlist so if you run into an enemy squad while attempting the quest there are only two of them instead of three. You should also turn off the fill squadmates option to guarantee you get to pick Bloodhound and aren't a bad teammate for solo dropping.

The White Raven you need to interact with is located near the Lava Siphon, however there multiple spawn locations around Lava Siphon, in the southern part of World's Edge, one of the new points of interest in Season 10. A small gold circle with a raven icon in the center will indicate the search area.
