Pokemon Go August 2021 Community Day: Shiny Eevee, Event Moves, Bonuses, And More

Pokemon Go developer Niantic is doing things a little differently for the game's August Community Day. The event will be held across two days rather than the usual one, from August 14-15, and it features a Pokemon that has already starred in a previous Community Day: Eevee. Despite this, there will be some new event moves and other bonuses during the event, including an easier way to get Sylveon. Here's everything you need to know about Pokemon Go's August 2021 Community Day event.

August 2021 Featured Pokemon: Eevee

Eevee

Eevee is the star of August's Community Day. The Evolution Pokemon will appear in the wild more frequently than usual throughout both days of the event, making it easier to stock up on Eevee Candy. On top of that, Niantic will roll out a paid Special Research story revolving around Eevee called What You Choose to Be. The Special Research costs $1 USD to access and offers more chances to catch Eevee and earn other rewards.

Thanks to the increased wild Eevee spawns, you'll also have a better chance of encountering Shiny Eevee during the event, making this a great opportunity to add some Shiny Eevee evolutions to your collection. Shiny Pokemon are normally fairly rare, but you'll increase your chances to find a Shiny Eevee by using Incense during August's Community Day.

Best Hulu Original Movies Streaming Right Now

Hulu's initial popularity came from its rebroadcast of network television shows--specifically, those airing on NBC and Fox. Back in the mid-aughts, Hulu was the best way to watch reruns of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Family Guy, 30 Rock, and The Office. There were movies on the service, but they were icing on the cake.

Eventually, as the streaming game got more competitive and fragmented, Hulu had to rely less on its television broadcast partners and more on generating exclusive content. But even so, its original movie offerings have lagged behind its original television offerings. Only in the past two-odd years has Hulu garnered critical acclaim for its films on par with The Handmaid's Tale or FX's Devs. And last year, Hulu acquired the exclusive streaming rights for Nomadland streaming debut. That film and its three Oscar wins for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actress could be a harbinger of good things to come for the service.

Here are the 10 best Hulu original movies that you can watch right now.

Halo CE's Magnum Isn't In Infinite, But These Videos Show It Some Love

The release of Halo Infinite is fast approaching, and while the game is adding a ton of new features, it will be missing something: a magnum. Halo's magnum is an iconic weapon, and if you played Combat Evolved, you can probably still hear the sound of it firing. While the franchise as a whole may be moving away from the iconic weapon, a group of animators on YouTube decided to give the magnum some well-earned attention.

As part of a challenge on YouTube, animators were tasked with reanimating Halo CE's magnum. Animators of every caliber responded to the task with videos showing simple takes on the iconic pistol to a full 50-second long video. The latter came from former senior animator at Respawn and current expert animator at Infinity War, Ranon Sarono. Sarono has made animations for multiple weapons from 2019's Call of Duty Modern Warfare, Apex Legends, and Titanfall 2.

You can find Sarono's video down below, along with a few other videos that were submitted for the Halo CE magnum reanimation challenge.

South Park Creators Want To Own And Operate The Actual Casa Bonita Restaurant

Casa Bonita, a popular Colorado landmark elevated to iconic restaurant since being featured in a 2003 episode of South Park, may soon be owned by the co-creators of the popular animated series. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Trey Parker and Matt Stone have put in a bid to buy the restaurant--which was a beloved childhood institution for the pair.

Still, nostalgia isn't clouding Parker and Stone's vision for the restaurant's potential. "We started talking about the changes we're going to make--mostly with the food," Parker said. "We're going to make really awesome food. I was already thinking about how I was going to make Black Bart's Cave a little bigger."

Added Parker, "It's just sitting there. It sucks." He also said that it felt like the restaurant was "neglected even before the pandemic" and that owning Casa Bonita would be "the crowning achievement of my life."
