Your next big chance to pick up some legendary Pokémon starts today! The Hoenn region legendary Pokémon, Kyogre, Groudon and Rayquaza are now in Raid Battles for a limited time. From now until March 5(yes technically longer than a week, lucky you!) you can find these guys lurking in nearby Gyms just waiting to offer up some fierce combat.
Pokémon Go[Free] is celebrating a legendary year in 2018 and this is definitely a fitting way to finish out the first quarter of the calendar. Tomorrow, Saturday February 24 is an event inside an event which marks the 2nd Pokémon Go Community Day. There will be a three hour period, based on your location, in which you will have an increased spawn rate for the rare Dragon Pokémon Dratini. Additionally, if you evolve a Dragonair into a Dragonite within this window, the Dragonite will learn the move Draco Meteor.
Times for Community Day are as follows:
Europe, Middle East, Africa, India: 10am to 1pm UK or GMT, 11am to 2pm CET
North America, South America and Greenland: 11am to 2pm PST, 2pm to 5pm EST
Asia Pacific: 12pm to 3pm JST
Even if you feel uncertain if you can take on Raids and Gyms, just remember that with so many people playing for the event that the resource multiplier may be much higher than usual. This is a great chance to get closer to owning your own Dragonite, which is one of the game's most powerful Pokémon. It's also a great incentive to getting back in while a longer event is occurring.
Speaking of that week long event, there will be a period immediately following Legendary week from March 5 to March 16 where a certain type of Pokémon will be more likely to hatch from eggs. If Rayquaza is defeated more than Kyorgre and Groudon combined, windy weather-related Pokémon will be more likely to hatch, otherwise you will see an increase in Pokémon that prefer sunny and rainy weather. So get into Gyms and Raids starting today to help shape what Pokémon will be more likely to hatch and while you are at it get ready for tommorow and the Community Day event!
