Procedurally Generated Puzzle RPG 'The Legend of Bum-Bo' from the Creator of 'The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth' Gets Its First Trailer

Edmund McMillen's The Legend of Bum-bo is set to release this year on PC and iOS platforms. If you aren't aware of his work, he created The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth [$14.99] which is pretty great. Read our review of the iOS port here. I own and play it on literally every device I have including the Nintendo 3DS. Bum-bo from Isaac is the focus here and you play as Bum-bo in a turn based puzzle rpg. We finally have a teaser trailer for it and you can watch it below:

The paper craft like aesthetic is nice with this kind of game. I'm always up to check out Edmund's new games and this one is with James. Gameplay involves a match 4 puzzle and of course things are all procedurally generated. There will also be skills, traps, bosses, and more. More items and characters will be unlocked as you continue playing through the game. Thematically, Edmund says this is a prequel to Isaac but won't go into more details to avoid spoilers.

This isn't being published by him or Nicalis for that matter. The Label will be handling this release. It is also going to be coming to Switch but that's next year. For now, The Legend of Bum-bo will be jumping onto iOS and PC platforms later this year.
