Far Cry 5 offers quite a bit to do in its open world, but its Arcade mode arguably offers even more to keep you occupied. The map editor is quite robust and gives you a ton of tools to create both cooperative and competitive multiplayer maps and modes. However, making a map is the easy part. Making a good map is more difficult and will take a lot of practice.
Luckily, the GameSpot team has identified some common pitfalls and mistakes that can contribute to a custom scenario or arena less than enjoyable. In the video above, we outline seven things that you should avoid doing while building the next great Far Cry map.
Ultimately, success in Arcade comes from a combination of being varied while also keeping the map to a manageable scale. You have be patient and determined to put in the work necessary to sufficiently terraform so that the map has interesting terrain. But you also want to keep the dimensions fairly low, as it's easy to get overwhelmed by larger maps. We discuss these tips and more in the video.
