Last Chance To Get Free PS Plus Games For August 2018

PlayStation Plus members are running out of time to download August's free games for PS4, PS3, and PS Vita. That's because Sony switches over the free games on the first Tuesday of each month--and Tuesday, September 4 is coming right up. At that point, you'll no longer be able to get August's PS Plus games for free.

The free games in August for PS4 are the open-world crime game Mafia III and the 4v1 multiplayer horror game Dead by Daylight. PS3 owners can download the action-RPG Bound by Flame and the shooter Serious Sam 3: BFE. Those with a PS Vita can get Space Hulk, which takes place in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, and Draw Slasher.

But before you download the games for August and call it a day, you can also grab Destiny 2 for free. It will be in September's freebies, but publisher Activision is making the shared-world shooter free for PS Plus members early so they'll have a chance to participate in a free trial of Destiny 2's upcoming PvP-meets-PvE mode Gambit on September 1. Gambit will officially debut as part of the game's Forsaken expansion, coming September 4--though many changes are already live.

The rest of September's games have also been announced. God of War III Remastered joins Destiny 2 as September's PS4 games. Another World - 20th Anniversary Edition and QUBE Director's Cut will be available for PS3, and Sparkle 2 and Foul Play will be available for PS Vita. Thanks to Cross Buy, all of September's games are playable on PS4.

PS3 and Vita owners have less than a year to continue getting free games through PlayStation Plus. Beginning on March 8, 2019, only PlayStation 4 games will be offered going forward.
