Violent citizens, evil lords, and the monstrously powerful divine beasts all mean to cavort in the striking colors of the moonlit streets of The Godbeast. Shame you’re going to mess that up for them.
Ysengrim was banished, his dad, the king, was killed, and he’s just generally in a bad mood now. They probably shouldn’t have banished him somewhere he could find an enchanted spear that just seems to pop back in his hands. Or somewhere he could get a sweet motorcycle to ride back to town in style with. Because now we’re going to help him get his revenge and thump some monsters beneath the moon.
You’ll find all manner of beastly troublemakers between the old skyscrapers and wooded places of The Godbeast. Citizens have changed into strange creatures you can take down with a few swipes of your spear (but a hurled spear will do as well). You might also run into the dangerous lords of the city, having to deal with their complex attacks with some crafty dodges (or slam into them with your motorcycle to kill them with style). There’s also the divine beasts that you’ll have to climb to bring down. Surely they won’t put up much fuss.
The game’s striking visual style (getting powerful killer7 vibes here) only adds to the game’s varied combat and interesting creature design, giving the action this otherworldly feel. Well, so does being fought with a giant who’s essentially swinging a bell tower at you, I guess. But it just looks SO GOOD, doesn’t it?
The Godbeast is available now on Steam.
