‘Ordia’ Guides Cyclopean Goos Through Adorable Dangers

Ordia is a one-finger platformer that allows you to take control of a strange single-eyed creature who is leaping around a very dangerous world.

You’ll need to navigate upwards, avoiding anything dangerous, as you get into new areas. Through each world, you are able to grab onto points that match your color, or slide onto bits of wall that share your shade as well. Any bits that do not match your color can be used for a variety of other things. Some colors push you out, essentially forcing you to jump, while other colored dots can just be for collecting. If you are not attached to any sort of ground or peg and go to make your jump, the world around you slows down, giving you a moment to make your move.

The environment isn’t the only thing to watch out for in Ordia, as there are many different monsters trying to eat you or block your path. Other bits of the environment might push you upwards or have moving parts. Either way, you’ll need to make quick decisions and move fast to get through these wonderful worlds.

I got the chance to play a bit of Ordia at the Google Play Indie Games Showcase after being drawn in by the visuals.  The world in Ordia is strangely charming, allowing you to fall in love with a circle that has a very large eye. Maybe it’s that magical eye that pulls me in. Who knows? Either way, there is something really enjoyable about this simple platformer, keeping me going and going.

Ordia is available now on The App Store and Google Play.
