A new trailer for the Kingsman prequel, The King's Man, has arrived--and it's excellent. The movie tells the origin story of the secret spy agency from the 2014 movie Kingsman: The Secret Service and its 2017 sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
Ralph Fiennes plays the agency's founder and Harris Dickinson portrays his protege. Fiennes' character explains in the trailer that the service service group is the first independent intelligence agency, and it's capable of moving more swiftly than governments. "While governments wait for orders, our people take action," he says.
"As a collection of history's worst tyrants and criminal masterminds gather to plot a war to wipe out millions, one man must race against time to stop them. Discover the origins of the very first independent intelligence agency in The King's Man," reads a line from the movie's description.
The movie also features Gemma Arterton, Rhys Ifans, Matthew Goode, Tom Hollander, Dickinson, Daniel Brühl, with Djimon Hounsou, and Charles Dance. It is directed by Matthew Vaughn, who made the previous Kingsman movies. As it is a prequel, the stars of the earlier films--including Colin Firth and Taron Egerton--do not appear in The King's Man.
The entire film series is based on the "Secret Service" comic franchise created by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons. The King's Man comes to theatres in February 2020.
