Another dog stole your bones? Why not fling your owner at them with enough force to knock down a building? That’s teach them to snatch your treats.
PLAY DOG PLAY TAG pits two to four players against one another in a wild scramble to collect the most bones in five minutes. You’ll be playing as a dog that’s dragging its owner around, sending the poor fella rolling and tumbling along the ground as you rush to grab any bones you can find. Your owner’s not just there for show, though, as you can charge up this floppy person and send them flying out in front of you. Using this, you can clobber the thief to get bones, smack other players to steal their bones, or just knock down every building in the neighborhood.
If throwing a ragdoll person with explosive force isn’t enough for you, you can also collect power-ups that will let you turn the ground to ice, add a fire attack, and grant you other handy little abilities. Considering you have to stop still and hold a charge before you can fling your owner, these powers can give you a bit of an edge if you’re having trouble hitting some moving targets.
PLAY DOG PLAY TAG uses its silly concept for some ridiculous moments, making for a hilarious game for a group of friends (which we experienced for ourselves back at BitSummit). Using a wobbly human to knock down buildings really doesn’t get old.
PLAY DOG PLAY TAG is available now on Steam Early Access.
