HUMANITY brings big crowds together, having you manipulate them in various ways and then watch what the people do based on that.
From what is shown in its trailer and the limited information out for it, HUMANITY seems to offer various ways to bug crowds to see what they’ll do. The trailer shows blocks being moved through the crowd that knock people over, moments where one crowd can shoot at the other (bringing many zombie apocalypse games and movies to mind), or having two crowds come together in a clash.
Its design seems to be built around curiosity, getting you to pick out some things you want to happen, then watching how the people will react. It looks like an interesting toy that some intriguing puzzles can be made out of. Not only this, but it seems neat to just watch how the crowd behaves based on what you do to them. Some visually-appealing things can be made from this teeming mass, creating a living piece of artwork out of the small shapes that are wandering through it.
HUMANITY is still in development and details on its play style are scant, but it’s seeming like something that will be fun to watch just how crowds react to the things you put before them. And if you’ve ever gotten stuck in a crowd, you’re probably looking forward to messing with those people just a little bit.
HUMANITY is currently in development, but in the meantime, you can follow its creation on the game’s site.
