Dark and Twisted Adventure ‘Little Misfortune’ from the Makers of ‘Fran Bow’ is Heading to Mobile Next Month

The last time we heard from developer Killmonday Games, it was back in 2016 when they had ported their super dark and twisted point and click adventure Fran Bow from Steam to mobile. Fran Bow was well-recieved on desktop and translated to the touchscreen beautifully, and it also showed that Killmonday was capable of making some… extremely messed up adventure games. Last year they released their follow-up title Little Misfortune onto desktop, again to positive acclaim, and again they are now bringing the experience to mobile. Little Misfortune is another dark and twisted tale and centers around an 8-year old girl named Misfortune who hears voices in her head. Well, one voice actually, who she names Mr. Voice. The voice compels her to take part in a “game" where the winning prize is Eternal Happiness, which she wants to win so she can give it to her neglectful mother. It’s all so sad, but… in a good way, somehow? Here’s the full trailer for Little Misfortune from the Steam release followed by the new mobile trailer.

Fran Bow was a really impressive first release, especially considering Killmonday Games is just a two-person husband and wife development duo. Little Misfortune takes place in the same universe and looks like it’ll provide even more twisted entertainment than its predecessor. One big upgrade this time around is full voice acting, and I’m really digging Misfortune’s adorable little accent. While Little Misfortune is priced at $19.99 on desktop, there’s been no word on what the pricing will be on mobile, nor on the manner at which the game will be released. You may recall that Fran Bow was split up into five different apps, each one representing a chapter in the game, and that tactic seemed to tick quite a few people off when the game launched on mobile several years ago. Hopefully it’s just a single app this time around, but regardless I’ll be anxious to get my hands on Little Misfortune when it arrives on mobile in just a couple of weeks on February 13th.
