Fish And Bugs Leaving After May In Animal Crossing: New Horizons

A new month in Animal Crossing: New Horizons doesn't just mean new fish and bugs to catch, but also a handful of fish and bugs that are going away. You can hit up last month's list to see what's missing now that April is over, but if you want to look ahead and focus on what's going away in June, we have you covered. Whether you have a Northern or Southern Hemisphere island, here's every fish and bug leaving Animal Crossing at the end of May.

Fish And Bugs Leaving After May

Fish are first spotted in bodies of water as shadows, which come in a variety of sizes. We have a fish shadow size guide you'll want to use to get a better idea of what the shadow sizes (which we label 1-6) look like in-game. All fish listed below have their corresponding shadow size next to them for easier identification.

Northern Hemisphere

Fish Location/Size Time Price
Golden Trout River (Clifftop) / 3 4 PM - 9 AM 15,000
Oarfish Sea / 6 All day 9,000
Loach River / 2 All day 400

The golden trout is among the most valuable fish in the game--it's also new to the Animal Crossing series! It only spawns in clifftop rivers, just like the rare stringfish, so if you're going to focus your efforts on fishing this month, you might want to grab your ladder and be on the lookout for this one. One of the best ways to catch rare fish is on a deserted island that has the right layout, since fish spawn more rapidly on Mystery Tours than on your own island--better spawn rates means less time crafting fish bait, though that is certainly recommended as well.

The Last Of Us TV Show: Troy Baker Talks About His Involvement

While the Last of Us Part II has finally gotten an official release date, many of the details surrounding the HBO Last of Us TV show are still unknown. Back on March 6, Sony and Naughty Dog revealed that they would be teaming up with HBO to create an adaption of the popular series. In a recent interview with Fandom, Troy Baker has shared some news about the show.

Baker voiced and performed as the main character Joel in both the first game and the upcoming sequel. While the actor revealed that he hasn’t had much to do with the adaptation, he has a close friendship with Neil Druckmann, writer and executive producer of the TV and game series. Baker is also a massive fan of Craig Mazin, the head writer of HBO's Chernobyl, who is writing The Last of Us TV show with Druckmann.

“I’ve been a huge fan of Craig Mazin for a while now," Baker said. "So I was a massive fan [of the HBO series] going into it, not just because of Chernobyl, but because of [Craig] as a writer … he’s like the band that the bands listen to – everybody likes Craig! So I started following him on Twitter and he follows me back and I’m like, ‘Dude, I’m a massive fan of yours’, and he’s like, ‘I’m a massive fan of YOURS!’ We had this great Twitter DM love going back and forth."

The Last Of Us 2's File Size Revealed, And It's Huge

A listing for The Last of Us: Part II on the PlayStation website reveals some key details about the much-anticipated PS4-exclusive pertaining to its file size and installation details.

Players who buy the game digitally may need to clear up some space on their hard drives, as The Last of Us: Part II will require at least 100 GB of free space. This makes it the biggest-ever PlayStation exclusive, surpassing the file sizes of God of War, Horizon: Zero Dawn, and Spider-Man, according to GamesRadar.

The PlayStation listing also specifies that those picking up a physical copy of The Last of Us: Part II will receive a box that includes two discs. It's thought that, like with Final Fantasy VII Remake and Red Dead Redemption 2 before it, the first disc is for installing the game and the second is for playing.

Cyberpunk 2077 Won't Be Censored For Australia, Receives R18+ Rating

In April, CD Projekt Red confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 crossed a major milestone when most of the world's major ratings groups assigned ratings to the much-anticipated title. This includes Australia's Classification Board, which is known for its strict ratings (remember South Park: The Stick of Truth and its crying koala censors?)

CD Projekt Red's Kuba Kutrzuba tells GameSpot that Cyberpunk 2077 has received an R 18+ rating in Australia, which is classified as "high impact." The game will feature sex, violence, and references to sexual violence. The big news here, however, is that Cyberpunk 2077 has not been refused classification, which was the case for Saints Row IV and State of Decay, among others. Those games needed to re-submit with edits to get approved for release.

Destiny 2's Seasons Are Changing--Here's How

The third year of Destiny 2 saw some changes in the way Bungie approached the live game's seasonal content. Throughout this year, seasons have seen new story beats and activities show up for a few months, then disappear with the start of a new season. Bungie is changing parts of that approach in the game's fourth year, allowing you to play seasonal activities for longer.

Bungie detailed the shift in its latest This Week at Bungie blog post. Starting with Season 12, which will mark the start of Destiny 2's Year 4, Bungie will make seasonal activities, story quests, and rewards persist through the entire year.

That's in contrast to the approach Bungie tried in Year 3 with its current batch of seasons. In another blog post, director Luke Smith explained that Bungie hoped to make Destiny feel like an evolving experience with its current approach. Storylines unfold over seasons, which give rise to specific activities. Those storylines wrap up at the end of the season and set up the story for the next, and the specific activities that go with each season--and their various loot rewards--vanish as well.

How To Catch A Mole Cricket In Animal Crossing: New Horizons

There are 80 bugs to catch throughout the year in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but none of them are as tricky to find as the mole cricket. It is the only bug in the entire game that requires you to play with sound on, and you won't be able to see it when it's around. It's not the most profitable bug out there, but it's still important for your Critterpedia, so here's how to find and catch one.

How To Catch A Mole Cricket

  • Requires: 1x shovel, 1x net, sound on

To catch a mole cricket, you'll have to listen for, well, cricket noises. As you walk around your island, a friend's island, or a Mystery Tour island, you might hear a rapid chirping sound. Walk around and listen for it to get louder; when the sound is at its loudest, you should take out your shovel and start digging in the immediate area. It will probably take a few tries, but once you find the spot, the mole cricket will pop out of the ground as you dig the hole. When this happens, quickly switch to your net and catch it.

Unfortunately, there's no easy way to catch a mole cricket if you're hard of hearing or can't play with sound; you would just have to keep digging around your island until one pops out of the ground. You can, however, limit the areas a mole cricket could spawn by laying down paths, planting flowers, and placing items on the ground.

Out Now: ‘Kingdom Two Crowns’, ‘Legends of Runeterra’, ‘Echoes of Aeons’, ‘Levelhead’, ‘Fancade’, ‘Ultimate Custom Night’, ‘The Curse of Issyos’, ‘Fateful Lore’, ‘Samsara Room’ and More

Each and every day new mobile games are hitting the App Store, and so each week we put together a big old list of all the best new releases of the past seven days. Back in the day the App Store would showcase the same games for a week, and then refresh those features each Thursday. Because of that developers got into the habit of releasing their games throughout Wednesday or very early Thursday in order to hopefully get one of those coveted features spots. Nowadays the App Store refreshes constantly, so the need for everyone to release all on the same day has diminished. Still, we’ve kept our weekly Wednesday night format as for years that’s the time people knew to check TouchArcade for the list of new games. And so without further ado please check out the full list of this week’s new games below, and let us know in the comments section which games you’ll be picking up!

Reggie Fils-Aime Is Starting A Podcast For Charity

Reggie Fils-Aime, the beloved former Nintendo of America president, is getting in on the podcast bandwagon. He is starting a new show alongside games journalist Harold Goldberg that is very appropriately called "Talking Games with Reggie and Harold."

The podcast will also serve to help raise money for the New York Video Game Critics Circle, a non-profit charity that provides scholarships and other help to students in New York. Fils-Aime and Goldberg will call on their audience to donate to a GoFundMe campaign that will give games and consoles to young people in homeless shelters.

Xbox Boss Doesn't Want To Exploit The COVID-19 Crisis

With more and more people staying home amid the COVID-19 crisis, the gaming industry is experiencing growth as people look for stuff to do. Xbox is seeing an increase in Xbox Live users and Xbox Game Pass subscribers. While the lockdowns are seemingly good for business, it's also a challenging time in the world where people are facing difficulty and hardship related to the pandemic and other factors.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer told Business Insider that Microsoft is trying to avoid "exploiting the situation" for its own gain. Instead of focusing on changing up its business models to leverage the increase in players, the company is primarily trying to keep Xbox Live up and running to meet the increased demand.

"We want to be very thoughtful and not exploiting the situation," Spencer said. "We're not putting in place any different business tactics or other things. We're just trying to keep all the services up, trying to keep the games enjoyable, keeping our networks safe and secure. And being there at a time of need. I'm proud that we can provide this activity for people."

AMC Theatres Fires Back At Universal, Says It Won't Play Any Of Their Movies As Part Of Dispute

Universal's new Trolls movie, World Tour, skipped theatres and released digitally where it enjoyed massive success, bringing in $100 million in rentals over its first three weeks in the US. Not everyone is thrilled, however. One of the largest global movie theatre chains, AMC Theatres, has fired back at Universal, and is now vowing to never show another Universal film again.

Universal CEO Jeff Shell told The Wall Street Journal that the success of Trolls World Tour in its new digital format demonstrated that paid video-on-demand can be a viable option for studios. He added that Universal plans to release its future movies digitally and in theatres. The digital release came amid the COVID-19 crisis where theatres globally are closed.

However, these comments ruffled the feathers of AMC boss Adam Aron. In a statement (via The Hollywood Reporter), Aron said Shell's comments were "disappointing."
