The Lego Ideas initiative, which accepts and eventually creates and sells ideas crafted by Lego enthusiasts outside the company, has unveiled the results of a recent review of entries, and has selected three new sets. They comprise a great-looking Lego typewriter, a recreation of Jerry Seinfeld's apartment from the 90s sitcom Seinfeld, and a replica of the McCallister home from 1990's Home Alone.
The Seinfeld set, which includes Jerry, George, Elaine, Kramer, and Newman mini-figs, recreates Jerry's apartment--keeping in mind that the apartment was only ever a set, which this set certainly feels like. It's a pretty spot-on recreation, although it remains to be seen whether minifig Kramer will be able to slide effortlessly through the front door.
The McCallister House is another 90s throwback, and it could make a great Christmas present for any nostalgic 90s kid. It's unclear whether or not there are any booby-traps inside.
The typewriter is not a pop-culture touchstone, but that doesn't make it any less cool. You could pretend it's the typewriter from The Shining, of course, although the paper doesn't have any writing on it. Check it out below.
