A classic American TV show, The Wonder Years starring a young Fred Savage, is getting rebooted. ABC Has announced that it's making a new version of the comedy, but this time it will focus on a Black family. The original show, which took place in the '60s, featured a white family in suburban America.
The new version of The Wonder Years is being produced by Empire co-creator Lee Daniels, according to The Hollywood Reporter. ABC is said to have agreed to fund a pilot, and a writers room will be assembled once the network approves the script.
The new Wonder Years show is aiming to be on TV for the 2021-2022 season.
