‘Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story’ Is Shutting Down in September Less than a Year and a Half since It Launched

Last year, Aniplex USA announced a localisation of Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story (Free) and finally brought the mobile game based on the Puella Magi Madoka Magica anime that released in Japan a long time ago to North America. Today, an in-game notice confirms that Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story will be shutting down next month. Beginning August 30th, Magia Pass sales will be stopped. All event stories will be unlocked from August 31st in the archive as well. Magia Stones will no longer be sold after September 10th. News like this definitely makes it harder to trust any free to play licensed game from Japan that has different servers for the West with the Japanese version remaining in service. Watch the original trailer for Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story below:

Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story has been developed by f4samurai and it is published by Aniplex USA in USA and Canada. Back when it launched last year, I was speculating whether it would arrive properly worldwide but it won’t happen now. Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story will shut down on September 29th. The official website confirms that you cannot transfer your account to the other region’s game version either. Check out the official English website here. You can now download it on the App Store or on Google Play in USA and Canada. Have you already been playing the Japanese release for this?
