How To Find White Raven In Apex Legends For Bloodhound's New Story Quest

Despite Apex Legends being a first-person shooter battle royale, the game has deep lore for both its characters and world. Respawn Entertainment has experimented in the past with different ways of injecting that lore into the game, including comics and single-player quests. Now, Respawn has introduced a new form of story to the game through Apex Chronicles, the first of which stars Bloodhound. In order to progress through the chapters of Old Ways, New Dawn, you will need to complete certain objectives within a battle royale match.

Chapter 1 requires you to find a White Raven on World's Edge and cannot be completed in a ranked lobby. You will need to make sure that World's Edge is the current map in the unranked trios and duos queue. If not, it rotates every few hours, so check back in later. I recommend picking the duos playlist so if you run into an enemy squad while attempting the quest there are only two of them instead of three. You should also turn off the fill squadmates option to guarantee you get to pick Bloodhound and aren't a bad teammate for solo dropping.

The White Raven you need to interact with is located near the Lava Siphon, however there multiple spawn locations around Lava Siphon, in the southern part of World's Edge, one of the new points of interest in Season 10. A small gold circle with a raven icon in the center will indicate the search area.

V/H/S/94 Review -- Uneven Analog Anthology Scares

The horror genre is marked by waves in popularity of different subgenres, and for a few years, found footage was by far the biggest craze. The huge success of 1999's The Blair Witch project led to a decade filled with fuzzy, hand-held, naturalistic shockers, from the grottiest no-budget films to Hollywood productions that jumped on the bandwagon. By the time the found footage anthology film V/H/S rolled around in 2012, the genre was on its last legs, with movies such as The Conjuring and The Witch set to dictate the direction of horror over the next decade.

Nevertheless, V/H/S was a surprisingly successful example of both found footage and anthology horror, with an impressive line-up of filmmakers (including Adam Wingard, Ti West, and David Buckner) delivering a quintet of effective creepy tales, unified by a convincingly rendered videotape aesthetic. Two sequels followed--the mostly-good V/H/S/2 in 2013 and the mostly-terrible V/H/S/Viral in 2014.

Seven years later, the fourth part arrives, which as the title suggests is set in 1994. The film kicks off with Jennifer Reeder's Holy Hell, the wraparound story in which an abrasive SWAT team raids a warehouse looking for drugs. What they find are numerous bodies and TV screens, playing the following four episodes. The first is Chloe Okuno's "Storm Drain," which follows a TV news reporter and cameraman as they venture down a gloomy drain to investigate the local legend of the terrifying "rat man." The second story, "The Wake" is written and directed by series regular Simon Barrett and focuses on a woman who has recently started working at a funeral home and must corpse-sit a coffin for a weirdly under-attended wake.

New World Players Are Killing Their Characters To Fast Travel

The Mandalorian's Rosario Dawson Will Play One Of Dying Light 2's Main Characters

Today's Dying Light 2 Dying 2 Know stream, the first since the game's delay from December to next February, included more details about Dying Light 2's city, and how it was brought to life with music recorded in Abbey Road Studios. Notably though, today's stream also highlighted a new key character in Dying Light 2, Lawan, who is being voiced by Rosario Dawson, whom players may remember as Ahsoka Tano in The Mandalorian.

Lawan's role in the game will be major, as she has a close relationship with Aiden Caldwell, the main protagonist. Dawson's inclusion in the game as Lawan marks the first big-name actress to join the game's cast. Along with playing Ahsoka Tano in The Mandalorian, Dawson has appeared in Sin City and Daredevil.

A large portion of today's stream was dedicated to the making of Dying Light 2's music, which has been composed by Olivier Derivière. Derivière has a long and impressive career in composing original soundtracks for games, with his credits including Vampyr, A Plague Tale: Innocence, and last year's Streets of Rage 4. Along with a look at how Derivière composed the game's music, today's stream revealed Dying Light 2's main menu track, "Run, Jump, Fight," which was performed in part by The London Contemporary Orchestra.

New World Has A Very Funny Lore Reason For The Lack Of Mounts

Amazon's popular new MMO New World is off to a good start and players are seeming to enjoy their experience in the game, but it's missing one feature that's common in similar titles: mounts. Why are there no mounts? According to the game's lore, there was a time in the "Old World" of Aeternum's history when people rode animals to get from place to place but this led to many injuries. As such, doctors now recommend against riding animals, and as such, the game doesn't let you.

There is a note in the game called "The Animals Revolt," and it's written by "your friendly local doctor." The message states (via PC Gamer):

"After a recent spate of back injuries, the doctors of Aeternum feel compelled to issue this warning to anyone who transports goods between settlements:

Recent World Of Warcraft Changes Are Part Of "Building An Inclusive And Welcoming" World

World of Warcraft's patch 9.1.5 is currently being tested on the game's public test realm, and each new test build brings more changes to older game content that could be seen as inappropriate or offensive. Now Blizzard is offering insight on why those changes are being made and what fans can expect in the future.

In a new blog post titled "The Evolution of Creative Content in World of Warcraft," the WoW development team says the changes are part of a goal of "building an inclusive and welcoming game world."

"In a game that has thousands of art elements and a word count in the millions, we recognize that these updates will amount to very few total changes overall," the blog post reads. "Nonetheless, we believe these changes are worthwhile. World of Warcraft is meant to evolve over time, and every day, new players from every walk of life and every corner of the world experience our in-game content for the first time. As a team, we want the world they see to stand as an expression of our talent and principles."

GTA Online's Weekly Update Gives Bonuses For Lamar Contact Missions

In GTA Online this week, players can get bonuses in Lamar Contact missions, Land Races, Classic Mode's Offense Defense, and Timed Trials. This week also marks the limited return of Classic Modes (Sumo, Inch By Inch, Keep the Pace, and Offense Defense), as well as Sea Races and Parachuting Jobs. Certain Jobs will now cycle in and out of GTA Online in order to save space and make player matchmaking easier.

Lamar Contact missions and all Land Races will both give out triple $GTA and RP. Land Races encompass quite a few different races, so players have plenty of options for lapping around the track. In Time Trials and Classic Mode's Offense Defense, players participating can get double $GTA and RP payouts.

The LS Car Meet top prize is Emperor Vectre. Any player that places top three in seven Pursuit Series races can get their hands on the ride. The Haunting Seasonal Event

Unfortunately, no details were given about the upcoming event, but more information is set to drop on October 18. Destiny 2 Shattered Realm - Ruins Of Wrath Data Cache Locations

We've been finding a whole lot of secrets in the Shattered Realm activity in Destiny 2's Season of the Lost. Along with new Ascendant Mysteries, there are the simpler Trivial and Enigmatic mysteries hidden throughout the area. As players have powered up the seasonal artifact, the Wayfinder's Compass, they've also managed to unlock hidden Awoken data caches that give a little background insight into what the Awoken have been up to on the Ascendant Plane--but those caches can be tough to find.

We've scoured the Shattered Realm to locate all the data caches in each of the three weekly locations. For the Ruins of Wrath, the Hive-infested location based on the moon, the caches can require you to open secret doors and search easily missed corners to find them. Note that you also need to activate the Truesight power to make the caches appear at all. Here's where you can find all three data caches in the Ruins of Wrath to complete all the location's Triumphs.

The Loop

This data cache is easy to miss if you run past it, but easy to find next to this Truesight marker to the left of the first beacon fight.

The first data cache is easy to miss, but doesn't require much to track down so long as you actually spot it. First, head to the Staging Grounds area and align the first beacon. WoW Classic Season Of Mastery Will Bring More Changes To The Old-School MMO

World of Warcraft Classic will soon receive seasonal servers, and when they arrive, they will be bringing some significant changes to Blizzard's old-school MMORPG.

The first season of WoW Classic is being dubbed the Season of Mastery, and it features a number of changes, outlined by Blizzard in a new blog post. Chief among those changes is faster leveling. Season of Mastery servers will reward more experience points for quests turn-ins, making it more comparable to the Burning Crusade Classic version of the game.

WoW Classic Season of Mastery will also be more difficult. Players ploughed through WoW Classic's content originally, after more than a decade of experience and the fact that WoW Classic ran on a late-game patch of original WoW made many raid encounters trivial.

CoD: Black Ops Cold War Zombies Is Getting Another Classic Perk

Call of Duty Season 6 arrives October 7, and Treyarch continues to tease more details for Black Ops Cold War's final round-based Zombies map. Today's tweets reveal a popular Black Ops 1 perk is coming to Zombies with Season 6, and there was also a schematic shown for a remote-controlled explosive device.

In yesterday's blog post, Treyarch revealed the final map is called Forsaken, and it will launch at the start of Season 6. A few details were also given about what players can expect for Cold War's Dark Aether story conclusion, as Requiem and Omega Group go head-to-head in a fight to deal with the Forsaken, a powerful entity that exists within the Dark Aether.

Whatever this final fight entails, Black Ops 1's PhD Flopper perk will likely be of some use. Treyarch tweeted out the perk machine jingle for PhD Flopper, so it's presumably the new perk arriving with Forsaken in Season 6.

Bungie Is Teasing Another Major Destiny 2 Death

Destiny 2 hasn't been scared to shed some blood, with 2018's Forsaken expansion infamously kicking off a new year of content with the death of beloved Vanguard Hunter Cayde-6. Since then, the game's cast has expanded as new seasonal content has been introduced, and developer Bungie has begun dropping subtle hints that another death may be on the horizon.

In an interview with GamesRadar, the outlet pointed out that the newly reintroduced sidearm Spoiler Alert has flavor text that reads "Someone is going to die," a phrase that was last mentioned in the Warmind DLC released before the Forsaken expansion. When pressed for more answers, senior narrative designer Nikko Stevens simply said that it was "no coincidence" that the gun bore that ominous warning, but beyond that, he wasn't ready to share any other details.

So which Destiny character could have numbered days in the constantly-evolving sandbox? Cayde-6's meant that Nathan Fillion's charismatic voice was no longer present in the game, while fellow Vanguard Warlock Ikora Rey's longtime voice actor Gina Torres--of 9-1-1 Lone Star and some forgettable sci-fi show called Firefly--was replaced in the role by Mara Junot. That just leaves Lance Reddick as the sole remaining original Vanguard voice actor.

Why Microsoft Is "Very, Very Cautious" About Making Movies And TV Shows Based On Its Games

Microsoft has a big library of popular characters and franchises, but film and TV adaptations of its IP have been few and far between over the years. Xbox boss Phil Spencer has now revealed why.

Speaking at TheGrill 2021 with Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick, Spencer said that, as with many things, it comes down to economics. Simply put, the business opportunity for interactive entertainment like games far outpaces the potential money Microsoft could make from a film or TV show based on one of its franchises or characters.

There is some value in transmedia efforts like the Halo TV show, the Minecraft movie, and the Gears of War film--but it's more about marketing and publicity as opposed to being a profit-driver on their own.

Horizon: Forbidden West Studio Guerrilla Games Is Hiring For A Multiplayer Game

Horizon: Forbidden West developer Guerrilla Games' new job listings appear to suggest that a multiplayer game could be on the way. The company is looking to hire a Senior Social Systems Designer who will work in "a core team of multiple designers focused on social systems and player engagements," and "ideate, create and share innovative features to build, engage, and nurture player interactions and relationships."

The listing goes on to say that the designer will create an environment where "compatible players can create Guild-like groups to explore together." Another job ad--Senior Narrative System Designer--points to a multiplayer game being in the works as well: It asks for the applicant to have experience in "narrative design in open-world RPG games, both single-player and online."

According to a Noclip interview with Horizon Zero Dawn game director Mathijs De Jonge, co-op elements were originally planned for the first Horizon game before getting scrapped, so it's possible the studio might reintroduce a multiplayer element for some future Horizon game. In any case, the hirings likely isn't related to the upcoming Horizon Forbidden West since no news about a co-op element has been mentioned yet in all the released PR content and teasers.

Xbox Game Pass Subscriptions Reach 30 Million, Take-Two CEO Says

During TheWrap's digital event, TheGrill 2021, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said that Xbox Game Pass subscribers have reached the 30 million mark. This comment was made during a roundtable discussion that included Xbox executive Phil Spencer.

When the topic of business models and subscriptions in the games industry came up during the discussion, Spencer said that he thinks business models are key in the creative process of making games. Additionally, diverse business models allow for the most diverse output. However, he still appreciates the fact that consumers still purchase games at retail and are invested in buying content.

He spoke about Xbox Game Pass, saying, "We think about it as bringing more games to more people, but not as a replacement for retail. In fact, we had our biggest year in retail ever last year while our subscriptions were growing."

Outer Wilds: How To Start Echoes Of The Eye

The first and only expansion for Outer Wilds is finally out, and you should not be surprised to find that just starting Echoes of the Eye is its own little devious puzzle injected into the heart of the original's main adventure. You only receive one clue when starting the game with the expansion installed for the first time, which you can accidentally miss quite easily. If that's you, or if the clue just hasn't been enough to go on, here's how to start Echoes of the Eye in Outer Wilds.

From this point on, we're going to dive into the specifics on how to find the new biome where most of the expansion takes place. Outer Wilds is all about the thrill of discovery, and even just eventually figuring this initial puzzle out brought a big smile to my face. If you want to go in without any knowledge, stop reading right now. Last warning.

Your first stop should be the Observatory on Timber Hearth, which will now feature a brand-new exhibit. This features a look at a new radio station elsewhere on the planet, which the exhibit says is responsible for collecting all the photos that allow your in-game map to function in real time. You should head there immediately, with the small structure easily visible from a low orbit around Timber Hearth. Inside you'll find log describing some of the first photographs sent back by a singular satellite orbiting the entire solar system, with Hornfel puzzling over a strange object he spotted in one.

The tournament, which will be held in Raleigh, North Carolina, is the first in-person Halo esports event since February 2020, and it's kicking off with a show. The HCS Kickoff Major has a starting prize pool of $250,000, fitting for Halo Infinite's first-ever competitive tournament. Just like any normal in-person tournament, there will be seating for spectators and a full main stage, along with extra stations for pool play.

While the HCS Kickoff Major is being held in person, the event isn't being run without COVID-19 in mind. A number of safety protocols are being implemented for the tournament, including either proof of vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test, along with photo ID. Anyone attending the tournament is also required to wear a mask as long as they're inside the stadium.

Review Roundup For FIFA 22

It's the beginning of a new season for EA's FIFA series, with FIFA 22 scheduled to release on October 1. Ahead of launch, reviews for the game have begun to appear online, and we're rounding up review scores from across the internet to help you determine if the game is worth your time and money.

If you're an EA Play subscriber, you can play the game for 10 hours, so you can try that to find out if the game is something you'd want to buy outright. Another important thing to note here is that the Switch version of FIFA 22 is a "Legacy" edition that is missing features and functionality compared to the other editions. The review scores mentioned below are not for the Switch edition.

Here at GameSpot, our FIFA 22 review scored the game an 8/10. "FIFA 22 excels on the pitch with a patient and more methodical style, but additions elsewhere are only incremental and microtransactions still leave a bad taste," reviewer Richard Wakeling said.

CoD: Black Ops Cold War Season 6 Zombies Map Details Revealed

Call of Duty Season 6 is starting on October 7, and Treyarch's blog post revealed the details for Black Ops Cold War's final Zombies map that arrives with the launch of the new season. The map is called Forsaken, and this round-based Zombies experience will conclude the Cold War storyline of the CIA Requiem research team's efforts to stop the Omega Group, who are responsible for all the Dark Aether portals and zombie outbreaks.

Requiem and Omega Group are now both fighting to extract Sergeant Kazimir Zykov from the Dark Aether. Both teams believe this Soviet soldier who closed the portal at Die Maschine's Projekt Endstation will be the key to dealing with the Forsaken, a powerful force that exists in the Dark Aether.

For players who haven't been collecting the in-game Zombies intel, YouTuber MrDalekJD has a great breakdown of some of the game's story intel, but Season 5's story suggests that Requiem and Omega Group have two different plans for dealing with the Forsaken. Requiem seem to be trying to stop the creature from crossing over, but Omega Group sounds like they are trying to capture and harness the powers of the Dark Aether creature for nefarious purposes.

How To Delete Nintendo Switch Games And Save Data

The Nintendo Switch is an impressive hybrid handheld and home console, but internal storage is one of its weak points. The original Switch and the Switch Lite model only have 32 GB of internal storage, while this year's new OLED model doubles up and offers 64 GB of space to house your digital game purchases. That's a decent amount of space for small games, but you'll quickly find yourself running out of room when you start installing more demanding titles.

There's three solutions to this problem: Buy the physical version of games whenever possible, or invest in a microSD card that has sufficient storage capacity. The third fix is more drastic though, as you can free up space by simply deleting games and save data, freeing up some room on your Switch for new purchases. If that's the only option available to you, here's how you can do it.

How to delete Nintendo Switch games

On the Switch home screen or All Software menu, highlight the game you want to delete and press the + button on the right-hand controller. This also applies to the Switch Pro controller.

Fortnite Season 8 Update Nearly Doubles XP From Most Challenges

Fortnite Season 8 got off to a slow start in the eyes of many players, thanks largely to a faulty seasonal XP system that offered too few challenges for too little XP. Epic fielded complaints from players for weeks and promised a fix. Now that it's here, it's plain to see things are much improved. XP is now more generously awarded to players completing challenges.

Prior to the Fortnite 18.10 patch, players were kept from leveling up their battle pass quickly thanks to a dearth of both challenges and XP per each challenge. Today's patch addresses both of those complaints. For starters, the daily XP gains have increased from 17,000 XP per challenge to 30,000, and each player can unlock three dailies at this nearly doubled rate.

NPC quests have also vastly improved. The old system would award a growing number of XP with each subsequent quest in a character's five-part questline, totaling 80,000 XP by the end of any questline. Now each challenge offers the same number of XP at each stop along the way--30,000 a piece-- totaling 150,000 XP for completing a questline the first time through.

Netfix's Korean Drama Squid Game Might Be Bigger Than Bridgerton

Netflix's South Korean drama Squid Game, a gory drama-thriller series where "hundreds of cash-strapped players accept a strange invitation to compete in children's games" with deadly high stakes for incredible prizes, is reportedly poised to overtake Bridgeron as the streaming service's most-watched show. This news was self-reported by Netflix and further covered by Variety, who also notes that Squid Game has become the first K-Drama to rate as Netflix's top show in the United States.

Released on September 17, within 48 hours it had entered the top 10 shows globally. On September 21, it took the top spot. "We did not see that coming, in terms of its global popularity," Ted Sarandos, Netflix's co-CEO and chief content officer, told Variety.

By way of comparison, Bridgerton, the period drama about England's Regency era, debuted on Christmas Day last year and by January it was proclaimed (again by Netflix) to be its "biggest show ever." Even without numbers giving a grounded sense of the success, think of it this way: As production on Season 2 was just getting started in April, it was already picked up for Seasons 3 and 4. Squid Game is reported to be pacing to outperform that kind of viewership.

New Overwatch Deathmatch Map Is Now Live On All Platforms

Overwatch has a new map, taking players to scenic Italy to battle it out in free-for-all or team deathmatches.

Called Malevento, it is the second map based in futuristic Italy, with the first being the Escort map Rialto. Malevento is now live on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch. Overwatch received cross-platform play earlier this year.

Originally set to debut weeks ago, the map's launch was delayed following a state of California lawsuit alleging widespread harassment and discrimination towards women at Activision Blizzard. The company is also currently being investigated by the SEC and recently reached a $18 million settlement with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in regards to allegedly failing to address employee sexual harassment claims as well for discriminating against pregnant employees.

Apex Legends Adds New Story Content That You'll Play During Normal Matches

Apex Legends is injecting more storytelling into its battle royale experience. Respawn has announced a new event called Apex Chronicles. Described as a "bite-sized" story event, Chronicles are meant to add more story elements into Apex Legends through challenges and "experiences."

The first Apex Chronicle is called Old Ways, New Dawn, and it's scheduled for release on September 29. This is notable because it's among the first times that story content is experienced by completing objectives during a normal match.

Destiny 2's Void Subclass Changes Will Be "Pretty Spicy", Dev Says

Many of Destiny 2's past changes have focused on Stasis powers, but Bungie is now turning its attention to Void subclasses. These will get significantly changed in the upcoming Witch Queen expansion to bring them more in line with Stasis, and GameSpot recently had the chance to speak with game director Joe Blackburn to get a few more details on what the subclass overhaul will entail.

Back in August, when Bungie first revealed The Witch Queen, it also announced that the expansion will include Void 3.0. This update will be a big rework of how Void subclasses currently operate, giving players the ability to apply three negative effects to enemies and three positive effects to teammates. It will also be overhauled to increase customization through the use of Aspects and Fragments.

Blackburn assuaged concerns that long-time players might have about these changes, saying that veterans won't have to completely re-earn their subclass abilities. "If they're a regular Destiny player, if they've put their time in, [they will find] that there's going to be a ton of aspects and fragments, all the supers you'd expect to be there," he explained.
