At 80 years old, Superman is a certified senior citizen, even if he doesn't look a day over 30. As the world changes, Superman is updating his mission statement to better reflect the world he lives in, announced DC Chief Creative Officer Jim Lee at today's DC Fandome event.
The world is changing, and so must the Man of Steel. Since his earliest years, the superhero's motto has been "Truth, Justice, and the American Way," but we live in an increasingly global world, and Superman protects not just the United States of America, but Earth as well.
"To better reflect the storylines that we are telling across DC and to honor Superman’s incredible legacy of over 80 years of building a better world, Superman’s motto is evolving. Superman has long been a symbol of hope who inspires people, and it is that optimism and hope that powers him forward with this new mission statement: Truth, Justice, and A Better Tomorrow," Lee said in an official statement.
